Friday night Scouts and Adults
completed Swim Test, Rescue Breathing, and Knot Tying at the Conroe Swim
Center.

|
Campsite
Once pre-requisites were completed
at Conroe Swim Center, the scouts set up camp at Camp Strake. |

|
Cracker barrel was served on
Friday night, followed by teeth brushing. Finally, it was time to get
some sleep for the busy weekend ahead. |
Breakfast, group assignment, and they're off to Canoeing training!
|

While waiting for breakfast, Scouts were learning how to tie a knot
for use in securing their water bottle to the canoe during training.
At this campout, breakfast was catered! Saturday morning breakfast
included eggs, bacon, biscuit, juice, fruit, milk, cereal, etc. All
the boys had to do was show up on time, eat, and clean their table.
After breakfast, the adults were
led away for orientation. The scouts were lined up by size, not so
tall to tallest, and counted off in groups of 8. Each group was
assigned two instructors (our Troop members were among 4 different
groups.)
The scouts received orientation
from their instructors . . .

. . . and then headed down
to the lake for canoeing lessons.

More to come . . .
|
At this point in picture taking, I was told to be on the waterfront I
needed to wear a PFD, otherwise I had to be across the street! All the
PFDs were being used, so no more pictures, but more are coming from
the adult leaders who are in training with the scouts. . . |
